Elegant Warehouse Vibes For Brunch At Bistrotheque, Bethnal Green

Elegant warehouse vibes at brunch at Bistrotheque, Bethnal Green. A great restaurant for a top brunch in London!

I love a long, relaxed weekend brunch with the girls. Your hard working week has been working towards this – finding great food for a late breakfast with top coffee and pretty cocktails at the weekend. When you go from spending your money on elegant ‘brunch cocktails’ before midday instead of jägerbombs at last orders from the bar on a Friday night. This is what adulting is all about!

I have been meaning to eat at Bistrotheque for so long now. I used to only live around the corner on Victoria Park and so I can’t believe I have only just eaten here! It’s open for dinner only Monday to Friday and then it opens it’s doors for brunch at the weekend as well as a dinner service.

Tropical warehouse vibes in East London for brunch at Bistrotheque in Bethnal Green.

On your first visit to Bistrotheque it’s likely you will walk straight past the inconspicuous building. The modern European restaurant is housed in an old warehouse just off Cambridge Heath Road. Make your way up the stairs and you reach a massive bright and airy first floor that’s painted white. It really does look super chic. There is a large bar with seating all around, an open kitchen and a piano at one end. If you come for brunch at the weekend like we did there will be a pianist playing covers which we loved!

On the weekend brunch service at Bistrotheque in London they have a pianist play. Its such a beautiful spot for brunch!

Bistrithque in Bethnal Green is one of my favourite restaurants in London for brunch.

There is a buzz in the restaurant, everyone chatting away, catching up with friends, or couples enjoying the beginning of their weekend. You feel like this is the place to be and you’ll wander why you haven’t come before.

The brunch

When I go out for brunch in London, I usually go for the more breakfasty dishes. I don’t really think it’s a brunch menu if it’s only standard main dishes just labelled ‘brunch’. The menu at Bistrotheque is the perfect mix of breakfast dishes and more substantial dishes, including lots of options without eggs. Everyone will find something they like on this brunch menu.

As usual, I couldn’t decide what to order – it all honestly sounded so good! I nearly ordered the croque madame which my friends ended up going for. But in the end I ordered the mushrooms and eggs served on toasted brioche. We had agreed we would order the French toast to share as a mini dessert so it helped with the decision making!

Every dish that comes out the kitchen is beautiful. It all looks so appetising. Now, there are some brunches in London that are more about their looks that their taste. Bistrotheque delivers on both. The mushrooms were fragrant and buttery, but not too rich with the juices running into the wedge of fluffy brioche. I loved the pile of peppery rocket with the eggs.

Perfect eggs and mushrooms served on toasted brioche. Bistrotheque in London is the perfect spot for beautiful brunch.

The croque madame was also a beauty! They definitely do not scrimp on the portions here at Bistrotheque. The two large slices of cheesy bread topped with that big dreamy runny fried egg are what comfort brunch dreams are made of. We did all order dishes with eggs but as I mentioned there are a whole array of other dishes sans egg but that are equally as dreamy.

So, we didn’t really have space for French toast but we couldn’t leave without trying it.

Oh my god. The fluffiest, lightest french toast I’ve ever had. The Chantilly cream, just melted into the slightly tart blackberries. Not heavy at all and the perfect end to our brunch. Potentially the best french toast in London? I think so!

I think this is the best French toast in London. We loved brunch at Bistrotheque in Bethnal Green. All serve great eggs.

This has become my favourite brunch spot in London. I know this is a big claim after just one visit, but I loved everything about Bistrotheque.

It has the delicious food but also that buzzy brunch vibe that you want in a beautiful setting. Now I just have to go back for dinner. I imagine I’ll leave just as happy.
