Beany Green, Broadgate Circle

Review of Beany Green, Broadgate Circle
Hello! So, it’s been a while. I have pretty much been chained to my desk at work for the whole of September, minus an incredible week in Ibiza with friends (blog post to come, obviously!). So this has meant blog wise September has kinda been a write-off. And I’ve missed it! But this weekend has provided glorious weather, farmers markets, cooking and catching up on reading and writing. It’s been bloody lovely!

This gorgeous weather we’re having got me thinking about a great lunch I had at Beany Green in Broadgate Circle recently. Their salads are spot on and so I thought I would share with you guys! I work close by so I love the redevelopment of Broadgate Circle; some great restaurants now live there (José Pizarro and Yauatcha City to name just two). The quality of restaurants in the City is improving continuously at the moment which is great because there used to be limited choice, in my opnion.

I met my friend on a very sunny Friday lunch time for a catch up and Broadgate Circle is half way point between our offices so the perfect new meeting place! After hearing great things about the salads on offer we headed to Beany Green; we managed to bag a table outside which is amazing for people watching below.

The beautiful looking salads are all laid out on the counter for you to pick from. You pick three different salads and then a ‘protein’ – I went for chicken. There are a variety of healthy dressings. All the salads looked so delicious that it was very hard to pick just three. In the end I decided on: a roasted vegetable and lentil salad as I thought it would form a good base for the rest of the plate; a mangetout and orange salad keeping it light and fresh; and chickpeas, artichokes and parsley, because artichokes. The hot chicken (you can have hot or cold) was served on top of the salad with a dollop of yoghurt and cucumber dressing.

I throughly enjoyed my lunch. The ingredients were fresh and complemented each other well. It’s not cheap, but it is really rather tasty so I don’t mind so much. Their banana bread is meant to be epic but I was too full to try it on this occasion – definitely leaving room for it next time. Also, they run a bottomless brunch with delightful sounding dishes… I’ll definitely be back!

Yum! This looks so good. I do love a good salad place, and bottomless brunches are the best. I’ll have to give it a go when I’m next in the city! x

This salad looks incredible – it’s so hard to find a decent salad bar in London, so I’m definitely keeping this one in mind!
