Franco Manca, Broadgate Circle

Review of Franco Manca, Broadgate Circle
So I like pizza. I like it a lot. Not the dominos of this world, but the thin crusts and sourdoughs. And I love to dunk the crust in balsamic vinegar. It’s my fav. There you go, Vicky fact of the day. So, when I was arranging to meet Katy recently for a good catch up, pizza and prosecco was definitely needed and so it was a great excuse to check out the new Franco Manca in Broadgate Circle!

I’m digging the redevelopment of Broadgate Circle – they have packed in so many great restaurants and bars into such a small space! As well as Franco Manca there are big names such as Yauatcha, Jose Pizarro and Beany Green. Heading here after work on a Thursday there is definitely a buzz in the air but it doesn’t feel too city-ish. It’s just a bit more laid back, which I like.

I arrived at Franco Manca at half 6, which was just in time to grab the last table inside. Having already agreed to bubbles via text, I order a bottle immediately before even looking at the menu (who am I kidding, I obviously had looked at the menu during the day, but the specials were a kept a surprise!).

Review of Franco Manca, Broadgate Circle
After some deliberation and massively confusing the waitress trying to order half n half pizzas, and trying to cover all bases with our topping choices, we decided to keep it simple and just order a pizza each, haha. I went for the meat special: mozzarella, tomato, prosciutto and rocket. Katy ordered the tomato, chorizo and mozzarella.

This was actually my first trip to a Franco Manca and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. The pizza base is really very good and perfect for dipping in balsamic vinegar! Maybe not quite as tomato-y as I like, but then I love lots of tomato. And very generous toppings too. Katy loved her chorizo pizza. So yes, very happy bunnies. And, as always, it was fab to catch up with Katy and all the exciting things going on!

My only comment would be is that it was a little difficult at times to get the attention of staff – like when we wanted to pay the bill. That’s my only quip. For great value, delicious sourdough pizza go check out Franco Manca!

I agree, totally love Franco Manca! They have the best pizza bases. I had the pizza with anchovies and capers – it was a bit salty (of course), but delicious!

Love Franco Manca, they never disappoint! I agree, the crust is so good to dip in balsamic vinegar, and the price isn’t bad either!

Ooh I’ve only been to the one in Soho – and while I’m usually suspect of tomato-less pizzas, I have to say that Franco Manca pulls it off remarkably well! They have one with a triple cheese whammy, which has got to be tried!
