Señor Ceviche, Soho

Review Senor Ceviche, Soho
Kingly Court in Soho has transformed over the last year. It’s become a mecca for foodies with hot new bar openings and a great selection of restaurants. Señor Ceviche resides on the first floor nestled between neighbours such as Pizza Pilgrims, Rum Kitchen and Cahoots. It’s not a bad spot at all!

It’s somewhere I’ve been meaning to try for a while – but my ‘Must Eat’ list is always growing and never ending! An overdue catch-up with the girls was needed and this is a great central location for us all to meet. It was pre-holiday so we wanted to keep things light – and so we decided to try out Señor Ceviche. I think peruvian food is always a great option when trying to keep things a little healthier… as long as you can keep yourself away from those tasty cocktails!

We sat down next to the wide open windows (it was August guys… those sunshine days seem so long ago now) ordered some drinks and began looking at the menu. I wasn’t drinking on this occasion (hard to believe I know) but the cocktail list looked nice and fruity and the table said they were rather good indeed!

Straight into the ceviche, we went for the Classico (sea bream ceviche with tiger’s milk, sweet potato, corn, red onion, coriander & plantain) and Mr Miyagi (salmon tiradito with Nikkei tiger’s milk, pomegranate). I love the salmon offering at Andina so I knew I’d like this. And it did not disappoint – so fresh, and what a pretty dish too. If we’d had it my way I would have ordered one of all the ceviches, I just love pretty much any ceviche dish. I could drink tiger’s milk by the glass, haha.

Continuing with the fish dishes, we ordered a plate of tempura baby squid, prawns and cod with a jalapeño mayo. The batter nice and light with a rather tasty mayo too. The Supper Pollo is a wonderful plate of chargrilled chicken with a rocotto and piquillo pepper salsa and it is so juicy!

Finally we ordered two portions of flat iron and chimmichurri because it’s that damn good. Just look at it! Served nice and rare just how I like it. And a couple of sides of beetroot and corn and some wicked black beans and we were done.

The vibe in Señor Ceviche is cool and friendly – it’s bright and lively and the staff are wicked. And the food is very good – as you would hope the ceviche is top notch but the meat dishes hold their own too. Kingly Court is definitely becoming a great place to grab dinner and drinks.

I’m almost always off to Kingly Court for random spontaneous dinners but I always end up in Wright Bros/Pizza Pilgrims/Shoryu. I have wondered about Señor Ceviche and now definitely putting this on my must-try list. That steak looks amazing! x

I’ve been to Ceviche Old Street, which I LOVED – having read your review, a visit to the Kingly Court outpost also seems in order!
