Christmas Hamper Ideas

Dalton-Banks Christmas Hamper
Christmas time means decking the halls with bells and holly and being jolly. Or something like that… In other words it’s the only time I’m allowed fairy lights in the house and drinking and eating more than is good for one person! Its also making the extra effort to see all your loved ones – friends and family – and presenting them with pretty, thoughtful gifts. Well, it’s your lucky day guys. I have some great ideas for a delicious, food filled Christmas Hamper for you today! There will be a red onion chutney, tomato relish, mini no-bake Christmas puddings and a variety of delicious chocolate slabs! Each day I will give you a new recipe to add to the hamper. Hampers make such lovely gifts at Christmas and really add a personal touch. The great things is, you can mix and match however you like – depending of whether the recipient is a sweet or savoury kinda person.

I got this little hamper from Hobbycraft for only £7. It’s so cute! I picked this up from here because of the quick delivery and it had all the other bits I needed, but I’m sure there are probably cheaper ones out there. I just use shredded tissue paper to line the hamper and sit the goodies on. I went for dotty cellophane for the sweet treats and bought some gold and red ribbon to tie it up with. The jars for the relish and chutney were ones I had saved over recent months. Planning your wedding will make you save all kinds of things forever more!

Over the next few days I will be sharing with you different items you could fill your hamper with. If cooking is not your thing, or with all the Christmas merriment to be had you don’t have the time to spend in the kitchen, you could always curate a hamper. Why not have a go at one of the chutneys and then just buy the biscuits and cheese to go with it to fill the hamper. Or, for the chocolate lover make a slab of chocolate, buy their favourite instant hot chocolate and a pack of marshmallows. The mini christmas puddings would be lovely with a strong cup of tea – Fortnum and Mason do beautiful tins of tea, or Whitards – you could partner them up. There a so many different options!
