Blixen, Spitalfields Market

Review Blixen, Old Spitalfields Market
Blixen has been on my Must Eat list since it opened over a year ago. Friends have been and raved about it and I’ve read a lot of good things about this stylish restaurant. However, until now it just hadn’t worked out with plans. This year our wedding anniversary landed on a Tuesday and I wanted to find somewhere with a nice atmosphere, that was new, cosy and of course with a good menu. Blixen ticked all the boxes!…

SS1254372 Cafe, Chiang Mai

SS1254372 Cafe
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a concentration of independent cafes and coffee shops in one place like I did in Chiang Mai. SS1254372 Cafe is one of those independents that definitely stood out from the crowd. It was a tranquil spot. I could happily spend my days people watching in cafes with some kind of tasty beverage in hand!…

Travel linkup: Travel blogger problems

3 week southeast asia itinerary Before I started my blog and before I used the likes of Twitter and Instagram I would go on holiday take some snaps here and there, do a bit of research about the place we were going to, read some guides and maybe a couple of blogs, maybe find the top places to eat or local spots and that was it. Oh how things have changed! These days it’s a military operation to plan the perfect itinerary, oh and it’s likely if you come on holiday with me you will never eat a hot meal. Sorry!…

Santo Remedio, Old Street

Santo Remedio, Old Street
The newly opened Santo Remedio is a small and intimate Mexican restaurant in East London. If like me you had fallen out of love with Mexican cuisine after one too many flavourless, mushy tacos and paste-like guacamole, then you need to head to Santo Remedio as quick as your little legs can take you because I think I’ve found a winner! Finally a Mexican with delicious food and great cocktails….

Ultra Hip Hotel Yayee in Chiang Mai

Hotel Yayee in Chiang Mai
We spent our last two nights in Chaing Mai at Hotel Yayee. When deciding how to spend our time in Chiang Mai we knew we wanted to experience the Old Town but also spend some time in the younger, trendier part of town around Nimmanhaemin. This area is filled with great bars, independent coffee shops, small boutique shops, and also close to the larger shopping malls….

Duck & Waffle, Liverpool Street

Review of Duck & Waffle Liverpool Street
Duck & Waffle has been on my Must Eat list for far too long! I follow Dan Doherty on Instagram and always love the look of his creations in the kitchen. Why has it taken me this long to sample the fine food at Duck & Waffle? I never seem to be organised enough to book a table far enough in advance! Well, that finally changed when, as the good wife that I am, booked a table for my husbands birthday two whole months in advance. Wife points to me!…

Trekking in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Trek in Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is surrounded by mountains, jungle and rivers, making it the perfect base to do a trek from. Like many before us this was one of the main reasons we came to Chiang Mai.

When looking at trekking in Chiang Mai there are so many different options! There is literally a trek for every budget, level (stamina!) and duration.

I’m not sure why but I left it really late to book this part of our trip. I tried to read as much as I could before we went to find out what kind of trek to book, what to avoid, how much they should cost and what to pack. So here are my tips and stories from our trekking in Chiang Mai!…
