I have just returned from the most incredible three week trip around South America and I cannot wait to share all the amazing things we did! We traveled to Peru first and headed straight for Cusco to acclimatise before embarking on our 4 day Salkantay Trek and climbing Machu Picchu.
Cusco is a very cute little city. It’s my kind of city: cobbled streets, small enough to walk everywhere, lots of little cafes and bars and some great food on offer.
Words cannot describe the beauty of Machu Picchu. After walking over 70km over 3 days and then about 1700 steps up to the top of the mountain you definitely have a sense of euphoria when you walk round the corner to see what the Incas were so clever to build.
Stay tuned for a a complete guide to the Salkantay trek and top tips for Cusco. For now, I want to share some snapshots of our time in the beautiful Peru.
