So it’s been pretty quiet around these parts, in fact I’ve not made a peep in 2016. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you’ll know that I’ve been on an incredible trip around Thailand, Laos and Cambodia! I pretty much had to pinch myself every day whilst we were out there because I couldn’t believe how lucky we are to be able to make a trip like this. I’m looking forward to sharing our experience with you all!
Holidays always make me very pensive, especially when I’m by the sea. There’s just something about looking out to the horizon to make you put things into perspective, make you thankful, make you question everything, make you feel small in this big world and make you feel like you can conquer anything all at once.
There’s not a real point to this post, I just felt like looking back at 2015 and thinking about what I’m looking forward to in 2016! I’m feeling good about this year.
What I loved in 2015
1) FOOD (obviously!)
So this may be pretty obvious, but 2015 was a great year for food. London is bringing it when it comes to food. The range of food on offer is astonishing, with new restaurant openings almost daily, it can be hard to keep up! There really is something for every mood and budget.
I managed to tick off some great restaurants on my Must Eat list (The Palomar, Oldroyd, Shackfuyu and Dishoom to name just a few) eat a lot of pizza (Franco Manca, Pizza East and Pizza Union) and ate some great streetfood.
2) TRAVEL
I travelled the most I’ve ever travelled in one year in 2015 and I LOVED it. You know the drill – ‘I’ve got the bug’. But I really really do! We spent a week in Morocco, a trip to Ibiza with friends and spent three weeks travelling around Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. 5 countries! And there is so much still to see! My list gets longer every day.
Unfortunately I think it’s going to be a while before we can replenish our travel funds but I’m planning on a European weekend break in the summer (any recommendations!?) and I want to explore England more. There’s so much I’ve not seen. And hopefully they’ll be another big trip towards the end of the year. We’ll see!
3) BLOGGING
I loved writing my blog last year. Cheesy I know but I really did. I feel my photography and writing have improved and it makes me think I can do even better this year. And I’ve met some pretty great peeps this year too – you know who you are, so heeeey! Definitely the biggest bonus of all of this.
2016, What you got!?
1) My first task of 2016 is to share with you all the wonders of my recent trip: where we stayed, what we did, what we ate and lots of tips. Like I mentioned there’ll be some short trips closer to home this year. It’s really rather rubbish how little of our country I have explored. When I think of a holiday I always think of far-flung places but there is incredible beauty on our shores and some great food to match, so I’ll keep you posted!
2) Food, oh glorious food. Like I mentioned my Must Eat listed grows by the day. And I’m making it my mission to try as many new places as I can this year! Maybe I should set myself a target!? I want to explore my local area more too – some great gems in SE London that I need to try. And of course I shall be sharing all my meals with you lovely lot.
3) This is more like a 2.1 but I want to cook more in 2016. I love to cook, and most nights I do. But I seem to stick to the same handful of meals that I know are quick to whip up after a long day at work. I just stick to what I know. I’ve got some brilliant cook books gathering dust on my selves that I need to actually use. Hmmmm. Maybe I’ll try to cook one new thing a week and share it with you. A bit of a New Year’s resolution a few weeks late!
So, hello 2016!

Welcome back lovely lady! More food and more UK travel is on my list this year too, hardly a chore is it?!
Thank you! Need to get my next trip planned to fight my holiday blues!
