Homeslice Pizza, bigger is better

Review of Homeslice Pizza, Covent Garden
Not much description is needed for this place hidden in a corner of Neals Yard in Covent Garden. The food and concept is brilliant. I loved it, you will too.

The pizzas are big, really big. They do about 3 or 4 by the slice, but the rest are ordered as a whole pizza or you can do half and half. There were such interesting toppings on offer. They come out on a massive board and are positioned in the centre of the table. You all get a paper plate, and there are much needed napkins on the tables. We went for the courgette and artichoke and rocket and salami. Both delicious and it would be hard to pick a favourite, but I think the veggie one might have won. It was just so garlic-y and smooth. I normally love extra tomato on my pizza so it must have been really very good for it to be the winner! Next time I definitely want to try the chorizo, corn and coriander and the oxtail and horseradish cream pizzas.

Another great idea from these guys is the wine. The wine is brought out in a magnum for the table and you pay for what you drink. They measure what is left at the end. It can be dangerous though, don’t let yourselves get through a whole one of those!

It’s £20 a pizza here, which may seem steep but it really is good value. Like I said they’re BIG. On my recent visit we actually had one pizza to feed 4 of us! It was more of girly catch up than a big meal out, but one is definitely enough for two people. Also, this place has a great atmosphere. Big groups of friends, dates and animated catch-ups all get along in this space. I can’t wait for my next excuse to visit.
